Dr Bradford did an ultrasound to check the babies. He found one really strong heartbeat and baby was growing nice. The second baby was hard to see and he could not get a heartbeat…He did not know if it was because the second baby was not growing or if it was just hard to see. He looked for quiet a while and could not tell what was going on. I have another appointment in two week to check and see if we can see two babies. (Sigh)

I left the clinic feeling discouraged. I really want both babies and have fallen in love with the thought of both of them. From the moment I find out I am expecting, I picture what it will be like with that baby and all the changes that will take place. The same thing happened when we found out there were two. I have pictured all the changes and want both of them.

When I got in my Mom’s truck to leave the clinic, she had a Casting Crowns cd playing. It was “Voice of Truth” and the words touched my heart right at the center of what I was feeling.

“But the voice of truth tells me a different story
And the voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth”

I don’t know what God is wanting to teach me in all of this. I feel like God uses music to speak to me a lot of times. I know that these words are what he wanted me to know. Even though this has been an emotional roller coaster ride…“I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth”.

Just a few pictures of Hannah:

These pictures were taken just a few days ago 2/1/2011. It has been almost 2 weeks since I saw the babies last. I will be 9 weeks and 4 days. They should be getting really big.

Also, I wanted to share that Hannah prays for the babies every day. “Jesus, Help the babies to stay in Mommy’s tummy and help her to feel sick….Day-Mend!” I love how she prays. It is so sweet and innocent.

When we first told Hannah that we were going to have a baby. I would ask her “do you thing we are going to have a girl baby or boy baby?” and she would say that we were going to have “ a boy baby and a princess baby. One for you and one for me”. Ha! Now that I have two, I am twice as worried.

After we got the good news that we are expecting twins, we called our pastor and let him know. He called the worship team to tell them, then, the news spread on face book. I started to worry… now that everyone knows… what if I loose one or both. I was pregnant with twins with Hannah’s pregnancy and I lost one by my 11 week ultrasound. I kept begging God to please keep them safe. I want both of them so bad!

That night when I was rocking Emily to sleep, Hannah joined us. I always sing Jesus Loves Me to the girl’s but I sing it…”Jesus loves YOU”. As I was singing it, it really hit me. Jesus loves these babies more than I do! He cares about their safety and futures more than do. It filled my heart with peace knowing that He cares for these little babies even when they are only 9 weeks old and about and inch long. How precious!!

The peace comes and goes. I suppose that I can only control my worry to some degree since I have tons of HORMONES helping with worry/euphoria then more worry and more euphoria. At least now when I am feeling fear creep in, I have that peace to look back and align my emotions with.

Journey to baby # 3

I was not sure if I wanted to share this journey with everyone but I really wanted to document what we have gone through these last few weeks.

On December 30, 2010 we found out that we were expecting baby number 3.

On January 21, we got to hear the baby’s heart beat for the first time We felt such a peace and like it was really going to happen now that we got to meet this little baby in an ultrasound picture : )

That Sunday morning I was at worship practice, ready to share with every0ne that we heard the baby’s heart beat for the first time. We had just started playing the first song when I felt a little strange. It felt like I just started my period, only really heavy. I quietly left the sanctuary and went to the bathroom to see what was going on. I had started bleeding…really heavy bleeding. Immediately I started crying. I knew I had lost the baby. I went to get my things so I could just go home, our pastor stopped me and said he would have the worship team pray for me.

When I got home a few minutes later, I walked in the house and told Phil that I had just lost the baby. We both just cried in each others arms. Poor little Hannah had been eating her breakfast when all this happened and didn’t know what to think of Mommy and Daddy crying.

The next morning, Phil took the day off from work to stay with me. I called my Doctor and made an appointment to get checked out. I told the nurse all the details and she agreed that I had probably lost the baby. When I got to the Doctor’s office he said “lets just take a look …I don’t think you really lost the baby…”. When he started the ultrasound he was very quiet and seemed a bit concerned. He said “I see one baby…I can’t believe I missed that a few days ago…a second baby”. Twins! I could hardly believe what I was hearing!!!! Both babies had really strong heartbeats.

When I got home, I walked in the door and said “We have TWO… They are both fine… I didn’t loose the baby(s)!” I went from 1 baby to zero to TWO in just 24 hours. All the way home from my appointment I knew that a miracle had happened and that these babies when part of a promise that God had given us when Hannah was just 6 months old.

Our prophecy in June of 2008: “Shiloh, The Lord is going to bless your womb, He is going to fill your house with daughters and will bless you with TWINS!

When that lady (don’t know her name) spoke those words to me it was like a knife piercing my heart. I knew that those words were from God.

Thank you Jesus for our babies!

Emmy’s Pictures

It was too big to post on facebook so I am linking people over here to check it out. Hope you like it!

The Statues

In a city park stood two statues, one female and the other male. These two statues faced each other for many years.

Early one morning, an angel appeared before the statues and said, "Since the two of you have been exemplary statues and have brought enjoyment to many people, I am giving you your greatest wish. I here by give you the gift of life. You have 30 minutes to do whatever you desire."

And with that command, the statues came to life, smiled at each other, ran toward some nearby woods and dove behind a couple of bushes.

The angel smiled to himself as he listened to the two statues giggling, bushes rustling and twigs snapping. After 15 minutes, the two statues emerged from the bushes, satisfied and smiling. Puzzled, the angel looked at his watch and asked the statues, "You still have 15 minutes. Would you like to continue?"

The male statue looked at the female and asked, "Do you want to do it again?"

Smiling, the female statue said, "Sure. But this time you hold the pigeon down and I'll crap on its head."

The Mighty Building Man:

We moved into our house a year ago this August and we bought it with the plans of adding another bedroom and bathroom. We thought that we would have been done by now but at least we are making progress. When I say we, I really mean he, the Might Building Man. If Phil had his way this is what he would do for a living. He loves construction and the tools but he did not like the lay-offs every time it got slow, and the pay. Anyway, He really wanted to build a house when we sold ours last summer but I didn't want to do that at all!!!! So this is our middle road. I have a house to live in and he has a project to work on. Plus by doing it himself he gets to buy a lot of new tools.
This is what Phil has been doing in his free time. Here is a picture of our little house before all of the digging and hammering started.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SklBfLdIUII/AAAAAAAAAWg/sCbqQbAIz2A/s400/Hannah10monthsold+076.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352881636013265026" />

Our friend George came over and started the whole thing last fall.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SklBeqY7xkI/AAAAAAAAAWQ/EaIAboJdRss/s400/House+addition+01.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352881627137295938" />

The Might Building Man.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SklBe5MF6AI/AAAAAAAAAWY/IR9Spabdg5o/s400/House+addition+001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352881631109965826" />

Just finishing up the floors.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SklBeHw4u0I/AAAAAAAAAWI/oS4C52BpBGg/s400/House+addition+006.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352881617842518850" />

This is what Hannah was doing while I was taking the last picture. I used a lot of things from around the house. I have wanted to try this for a while but it seems like I always have something come up I am unable,or don't want, to take a picture first.

We have some friends coming over for Memorial Day weekend and they have never seen our house...so, I have lots of things on my list to get done Within One Week.

Phil just got done painting our guest room a really nice pale green. It was a horrible dark green that was on the ceiling as well!!! YUK!!!! The room was always dark and even when you turned on the light you could hardly tell it was on. I think Phil will get done with the trim tomorrow and then I can get it ready for our guests. I hope to have the room ready by next week when our company arrives.

This picture was taken with my phone so it does not show the color very well. I told the doctor that I could not believe that I was over half way through my second pregnancy! We waited so long (9 years) for our first blessing and now I have a second one on the way.

The second thing I am thankful for... A few weeks ago we took Hannah to the doctor for a strange little noise that I could hear when I put my ear on her head. They told us that she would need to be sent to Wenatchee for an MRI/MRA of her brain.They said she might have an AV Malformation in her brian. They really could not tell us much more about an AVM then that. I made the mistake and looked it up online and could not relax for the next 3 weeks, until her appointment.

We took her down to Wenatchee on the 27th of April and that turned out to be a very long day for us and Hannah. She had to be put under for over 4 hours and they tried to get an IV over 17 times. After 7 hours, losing 1/3 of her hair for the IV to be put in her head, and lots of tears from Hannah and Mommy, we were on our way back home.

Thank the Lord everything looked fine on the MRI...we still don't know what that sound is but the doctor said that we should not worry about it because everything in her brain looked normal and healthy.

I really went through some trust issues with God. I spent a few nights crying and telling him that I really wanted to trust him in all of this but because of losing Flora it was really hard to cry out (again) and feel like this time my prayer would be answered. One night Hannah had a fever (totally unrelated) and Phil went to the store for meds. On his way back home he felt like the Lord told him that this whole thing was meant to encourage our faith and NOT to discourage it. The Lord is good and faithful and knew exactly what I needed as a mom to have peace and to trust Him.

This is a picture of Hannah in her little hospital gown before everything.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SgbscliI0yI/AAAAAAAAATI/Fka6rAGUnPM/s320/Hannah%27s+hospitalgown.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334210784522720034" />

This is her after she woke up and her little face was all puffy.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/Sgbsc-StauI/AAAAAAAAATQ/cN7zSNdfwXk/s320/Hannah+afterMri.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334210791168895714" />

By the next day Hannah was just fine and I am glad for her sake that she doesn't realize she is missing so much hair. Phil and I have been going to the Agri-Plex (for the last 3 years)for the Hallelujah Carnival that one of our local churches puts on every year. We play music and the kids have tons of games to play and leave with lots of candy. This year we had over 100 volunteers and around 1600 kids come through that night! I think that is pretty cool numbers for such a small town.

The best part was having Hannah with us! Last year I was grieving for our little Flora and waiting for the arrival of Hannah. This year I had my little baby in my arms and, my heart has had over a year to heal and take some of the sting out of our loss. I think that it truly was a Hallelujah Carnival for me. I was able to look back and see what good things God has done for Phil and I this last year.

I know pictures of people singing isn't very fun so, maybe you can start humming one of your favorite worship songs as you look at the next few pictures. :)

Here is a picture of the whole "Band". Dan, Carl, Jeremy, Shiloh, Sherry and Brenda.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQ81QZpIJjI/AAAAAAAAAO8/ZhqAadAFjco/s400/Hannah+10-31-08+046.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264485045296965170" />

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQ81RKdYGiI/AAAAAAAAAPE/oriDJ0-Hxqs/s400/Hannah+10-31-08+047.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264485058401016354" />

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQ81R-jAqmI/AAAAAAAAAPM/Qy_bCVxbJ_w/s400/Hannah+10-31-08+042.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264485072383289954" />

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQ82g9MDmJI/AAAAAAAAAPk/CC3hXZCSIpE/s400/Hannah+10-31-08+044.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264486429228243090" />
Hannah and her friends...Sherry and her daughter Ellie and son Cameron.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQ81SqWyEJI/AAAAAAAAAPU/_G-NRCMQdiA/s400/Hannah+10-31-08+054.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264485084143161490" />
Hannah as a sunflower.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQ81TbWA_wI/AAAAAAAAAPc/zMhpnV1GQDo/s400/Hannah+10-31-08+037.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264485097293283074" />

I have been tagged:

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 249px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQjWn3UW2jI/AAAAAAAAAN0/IDIPZy5RAL4/s320/tag.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262692144935000626" />

I was tagged by Becky this morning. At first I was struck with a little fear! But, I have been thinking about it today and I think I have come up with a few strange and funny things about me.

1. I don't like feet!!! I have never liked peoples feet touching me! When I was younger I would always tell my sister that I would know the man God had for me to marry because I would be able to touch his feet. It was true! To this day I only like Phil's feet (of course baby feet are wonderful).

2. I have never been able to make the number 3 with my hands? When I try I get really irritated! I don't know what that is all about but I get the same irritated feeling when I see other people doing it with ease.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQjg9aseJNI/AAAAAAAAAN8/YtGDJnitstI/s320/House+addition+010.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262703510324913362" />

3. Before I had Hannah last December my Mom reminded me that my sister and I always said that when we had kids we wanted to have a C-Section with our pants on!! I told my OB and he thought that was pretty funny. I did have a C-Section but they wouldn't let me wear pants? :(

4. I am with Becky (#3) on the whole house thing. I love my house to be clean and can't stand it being dirty but I don't always keep it that way. I think I take it to the next level because I won't let anyone in my house if it is not clean! I wish I was a little more relaxed about it or that I could just keep it clean all the time but I don't.

5. I love music! I almost always have music playing in my house and car. Sometimes I get in the car and my music will blast my ears because I left it loud from the last time I was driving and I was rocking out to a good song.

6. I have been trying to be good about walking 5 times a week since Hannah was about 4 weeks old. I spend my whole day trying to get out of it, when I get out and do it I love it! If I could bottle that feeling after I walk I would be rich and everyone would be thin!

7. November 1983 my family packed all of our stuff in an old bus and moved from California to Washington. They packed all six of us, 2 cats and 10 chickens in our bus and drove to a small little town in Washington. Don't feel bad about laughing at the 10 chickens part cause I laugh every time it tell the story. Anyway, we did not make it all the way. We ended up crashing the bus about 30 mile before we arrived. Everyone made it, my Dad broke his back and the rest of us had a few cuts and bruises but in the end we were all OK. I wish I could find old pictures for you. If I can I will post them for you.
It was 3 days before my 7th birthday and I kept asking my mom if my birthday gifts were OK? You can still see our tire tracks 25 year later. (wow, I am getting old)

I will post who I am going to tag later. I don't know if I have 7 people or not?

Thank you, Becky, that was fun!

I did not fall off the face of blogger planet:

I don't know what happened to the last few weeks. They have gone by so fast. We have had so many things going on this month. I just looked at the date on my last post and it has almost been a month!

I was taking Hannah's 10 month pictures the other day and it was all I could do to get her to smile. As soon as I get the camera out she get all serious. I thought that I would try taking her picture out side and distract her from the photo session. It kinda worked but Daddy was the real ticket. It was almost time for him to come home from work and we been out on the grass taking pictures and I saw his truck coming down the road. She is definitely a Mommy's girl but when Daddy comes home from work she get so excited. I saw my chance and I moved her so that she would see Daddy come in the back yard and I could still get a good picture.

The first picture is her expression when I told her "Daddy is home, Hannah!". She just looked at me like... "What?".

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQfjTlUR2-I/AAAAAAAAANU/xRBzUG7bl0k/s320/Hannah10monthsold+053.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262424615179901922" />

Then she saw him!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQfk15cwELI/AAAAAAAAANc/yTxloGlCCFw/s320/Hannah10monthsold+054.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262426304211325106" />

I love her happy little face as Daddy gets closer.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQfmWEILYhI/AAAAAAAAANs/d8MKsnaragU/s320/Hannah10monthsold+064.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262427956345266706" />

At last, she is in her Daddy's arms!!!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SQfl3HF7XBI/AAAAAAAAANk/EWfi6_-CVMg/s320/Hannah10monthsold+071.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262427424565189650" />

Phil's Skills:

Ok, I must take a minute to explain this video before you watch it. Anyway, I was looking at some sunflowers at our friends house and came up with this.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SOPbbPKyPRI/AAAAAAAAAM0/Z6BzgcaNbjk/s320/Hannah%27s+Sunflower+Hat+10-2008+186.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252282851418848530" />

It is not finished yet but I had to take a picture of her cause she looked soooo cute!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SOPbbufFU3I/AAAAAAAAAM8/Nztq_a4OK7Y/s320/Hannah%27s+Sunflower+Hat+10-2008+187.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252282859825484658" />

When it is all done she will have a green outfit on with some green leaves attached somehow?

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SOPbb1LI29I/AAAAAAAAANE/R68k3A_aP6w/s320/Hannah%27s+Sunflower+Hat+10-2008+188.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252282861620878290" />

Hannah's 9 month pictures:

I really can't believe how fast time is going. We started the adoption process three years ago almost to the date. We had only planned on being adoptive parents and not foster\adopt. So we contacted our local DSHS and started all the paperwork. Because we have lived in Oklahoma for the last 3 years they wanted us to have finger printing background checks done. That held up the process for about 3 months. Our finger prints finally came back and our papers were done in about May of 2006. I didn't think that it would ever get done! One of the social workers came to Phil and said that we might want to get our foster license as well if we are planning to adopt an infant or younger child. If we don't we could be waiting a long time for a baby. When I got the news, I felt very discouraged but started the next load of papers, classes and even more inspections. About two week into the process we were told that we should hurry and get our license because they had a 4 month old baby girl that they wanted to place with us for adoption. I could hardly contain myself! They had a baby for us and I had to wait some more...after all these years of not being able to get pregnant...all these months of papers and inspection...I wanted to hold her! I could hardly sleep or do anything but think about my baby. She was out there waiting for me and us for her and I could not hold her.
The day finally came when I got to meet her. Her name was Florencia...we called her Flora...our beautiful flower!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SMYJwasBBHI/AAAAAAAAAJE/LV-UWs7Mkuk/s320/Flora+007.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243889543521830002" />
She was 4 1/2 months old. I loved her instantly! I could not believe that after all the pain and all the waiting for a baby that God answered the cry of my heart and there she was in my arms. We were not able to bring her home for another month but we were able to take care of her in her current foster home. The first time I put her to bed, I rocked her to sleep on my shoulder and I could feel her soft breath on my cheek... I will never forget that feeling of deep, deep love and satisfaction that filled my heart and soul. All the pain of waiting was washed away in that moment. God is so good!
On August 16th 2006 we were able to bring her home. I had never been so happy. Phil and I loved being her mom and dad and she really seemed to just fit in with our families.
I never worried about the adoption not going through. I always had peace that she was ours to stay.
Right after Flora's first birthday, I woke up with a sick feeling in my spirit. I could not shake it and I kept telling Phil that I was worried about Flora's case. We prayed about it but still felt uneasy. I don't remember how long it was after that but we got the call we never wanted to get. She would be leaving us in April. I think I prayed and begged God everyday, several time a day, not to take our baby away from us. I knew that God could stop this from happening. We still had one month until her new family came for her. God could stop this from happening!? With the date getting closer and closer, We still had hope...
On April 5th 2007 Our little girl left us. The day before she left we had our pastor come and dedicate her to the Lord. She would always be our little girl, even if she was not living with us. It was so hard saying goodbye and not being able to tell her why we were not going to be there for her. She was only 13 months old and we had no way of letting her know that we were not giving her away and that we still wanted her. It was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. Our little girl was gone.
Phil and I ended up with a little blessing shortly after. We found out 8 days after Flora left that we were going to have a baby. Hannah Grace arrived that December. Five days before Christmas.
Knowing that we were going to have a baby gave us hope when we really felt like we had lost all hope. It did not take the pain away of losing Flora but restored joy into our hearts when we felt we had lost our joy.
Here are some pictures of Flora...
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SMYS5B_Mv1I/AAAAAAAAAJs/9pEYtrPAHGA/s320/Flora+9-22-06+024.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243899587114876754" />
Flora 7 months old.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SMYS47YI4sI/AAAAAAAAAJk/g9YJwxCDcGM/s320/DSCF2558.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243899585340433090" />
December 2007
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SMYS4C0lG2I/AAAAAAAAAJM/ixyQmeBuvII/s320/12-05-06+Flora+9+months+013.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243899570158902114" />
9 months old.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SMYS4T6Uw_I/AAAAAAAAAJU/-CqrX_pP5Jg/s320/1yr.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243899574746399730" />
Flora's 1st Birthday.

Our Adoption Journey: Part 2

I was not sure if I wanted to write about our adoption journey or not because at times it gets to be such an emotional roller coaster ride but I wanted to be able to look back and see what God did in our lives and in the lives of the children we will someday have.

I thought that I would start with the second part of our journey. Phil and I just finished our second Foster/Adopt Home Study last week. We had to do a second one because we just moved into a different house (same town)and DSHS requires every home to pass an inspection.

I had been having doubts about getting our house licensed this time. In fact, Phil and I had just been talking about letting our license go and see if we would be able to have more children on our own. Maybe try adoption again at a later time in life. I didn't know how I was feeling about all of that until we got a phone call two weeks ago and it was CPS calling to see if we would be able to take a little baby. I said yes right away but then I told the social worker that our home had not had an inspection yet. He said that he could not place the baby with us because the State is so picky about those kinds of details (rightfully so) and they would have to place the baby with someone else. Do you know that our other house was licensed for a year and we did not have one call!!! Now that we had a little gap, we were unable to take this tiny little baby! Needless to say we got on the ball and got our home ready for more children. Now I know how I feel about letting it go... I don't want to and I don't think that God will let me.

I am excited to see who God brings into our home and what our family will look like in the next few years!

Children See, Children Do.

About 2 years ago we had a bunch of friends over for American Idol and games. Our friend Tiffany was nursing her daughter, Hadlee, at the time. Every time she would sit down to feed her baby she would notice that she had some little eyes watching her. Mackenzie, about 2 years old, was fascinated by the whole thing. We forgot all about it and started playing our game and someone said " you need to come and see what Mackenzie is doing!". There she was sitting in a chair with her doll...yes nursing! With a far off look on her face. She had a bunch of people looking at her but she was taking care of her baby and didn't seem to mind the audience.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SLREptkqtlI/AAAAAAAAAIk/TjAHdUjgAo0/s320/kenzie+008.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5238887749937444434" />
I think it is so funny how she has her hand up her shirt!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SLREqvGkuGI/AAAAAAAAAIs/hKoXu4NRO1o/s320/kenzie+003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5238887767527962722" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SLREq5ZWH3I/AAAAAAAAAI0/sBBdQKrZLPM/s320/kenzie+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5238887770291052402" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SLRErR81rZI/AAAAAAAAAI8/kBRihOD8wDQ/s320/kenzie+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5238887776882371986" />

Sweet Peas-Yum!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZcLegxmRJIs/SGUMwHU4o8I/AAAAAAAAAII/BqZa9vpbMv8/s320/Hannah+4-6months+2008+089.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216589764118488002" />
Who knew that sweet peas could make a baby so happy?
